John Tanhouser is an entrepreneur and founder of Haccretion, a real estate technology company built around the idea that major industries can be redesigned rather than incrementally improved.

John Tanhouser was born and raised in Reading, Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Marine Corps Security Forces Regiment before attending Penn State, where he studied psychology alongside coursework in economics and business.

His interest in psychology developed from a fascination with human consciousness and behavior. During college, involvement with cryptocurrency introduced an interest in markets, currencies, ownership, and the structure of companies.

Tanhouser's first business involved building websites and mobile applications for individuals and local businesses. He later became interested in real estate after purchasing his first home. After passing the real-estate licensing examination and exploring the traditional brokerage model, he began developing Haccretion.
